taxes. Position SummaryThe Journeyman Plumber is responsible for
installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in
residential properties. This job requires proactive thinking, the
capability to lead projects, and the assurance that all work
complies with local, state, and federal plumbing codes and
regulations. The duties listed below illustrate the various types

Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis announcement summarizes typical job

duties and responsibilities. This position is accountable for
performing the following duties and responsibilities, with or
without reasonable accommodation.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, piping
systems, and related equipment (e.g., water heaters, disposals,
dishwashers, water softeners, and gas heating fixtures).
- Perform general maintenance at various housing assignments,
including landscaping, general construction, etc.
- Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs,
burst pipes, and faulty valves.
- Use appropriate tools and techniques to cut, thread, solder,
braze, and glue pipes and fittings.
- Read and interpret building plans to determine materials,
installation sequence, and potential obstructions.
- Assemble and install piping systems using various materials
(e.g., iron, steel, copper, plastic).
- Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure proper
function and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with other trades (e.g., HVAC) to ensure system
integration and functionality.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with
safety regulations.
- Follow all safety standards and perform other related duties as
assigned. This position is eligible for participation in the
collective bargaining unit (SEIU), representing certain Southern
Nevada Regional Housing Authority employees. Minimum
QualificationsMinimum qualifications are intended to identify
applicants most likely to perform successfully. Applicants who meet
minimum qualifications are not guaranteed an interview; however,
they are further assessed to determine how well they meet the
position's minimum qualifications and the agency's immediate needs.
Applicants should possess the following: Education, training, and
work experience:
- A high school diploma or GED, supplemented by one (1) year as a
licensed journeyman plumber.
- Proven experience as a plumber with a strong working knowledge
of plumbing systems and maintenance. Licenses and Certifications:
- A current, valid journeyman card. The card must be maintained
for the duration of the assignment.
- A Valid Nevada state-issued Driver's license coverable under
SNRHA's insurance policy is required at the time of application.
SNRHA utilizes Criteria for online employment testing. Successful
candidates will be invited via email to participate in the testing
for further consideration in the recruitment process. Failure to
participate in the testing is considered a withdrawal by the
candidate. Screening and SelectionApplicants who meet minimum
qualifications may be further considered. Evaluation factors
include, but are not limited to, a cover letter and resume, writing
samples, pre-employment testing/assessments, panel interviews,
references, performance evaluations, and background investigation.
