Job Description:
STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently on a
fixed route or demand-responsive public transportation system in a
safety-sensitive environment. This is a part-time position that
will work no more than 29 hours per week. Requires non-standard or
rotating shift work, including weekends and may be subject to call
back.
NOTE: This is a safety-sensitive position subject to the required
testing policy per the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The
incumbent is required to fully comply with all operational safety
rules and regulations established by Bullhead Area Transit.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE/LICENSING & TRAINING
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.) and
one year experience in the operation of a transit bus or passenger
van providing services to the general public; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully
perform the essential functions of the position.
LICENSING & TRAINING:
*Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and
certificates being maintained in active status without suspension
or revocation.

The physical demands described here are representative of those

employee is frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of
time, talk and hear. The employee is required to walk; use hands to
grasp, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and
reach, push and pull, and steer a vehicle with hands and arms.
There is a need to twist and turn your neck, stoop and lift, and
secure wheelchairs on the transport vehicle. The employee must
frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more. There are
sensory and perceptual demands, and the need to be able to maintain
good concentration. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust
focus. Specific hearing abilities include ability to hold
conversation with others by telephone, in person and over radio
equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are
representative of those an employee encounters while performing the
essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee may be subject to moving mechanical parts,
fumes, odors, gases, poor ventilation, extreme temperatures, work
space restrictions, intense noises and travel. The noise level in
the work environment is usually moderately noisy.
