additional life insurance Position Summary: The City of Prescott
Recreation Services Department is seeking a motivated, creative and
community- focused Recreation Coordinator to plan, coordinate and
oversee a variety of recreational programs, classes and/or events.
This position plays a key role in delivering high- quality camps,
programs, classes and/or events that enhance the quality of life in
the community by delivering inclusive recreational opportunities
for youth, adults, seniors and families. The ideal candidate will
be organized and passionate about public recreation and possess the
ability to manage multiple programs, classes and/or events while
engaging residents, staff and community partners to enhance the
quality of life for everyone we serve. Essential Duties: Create,
plan, organize, and lead camps, community events, programs and
recreational classes for youth, adults, seniors and families
Coordinate and oversee event logistics including facilities,
equipment, permits, vendors and setup/teardown Provide on-site
supervision during events to ensure safety and high-level execution
of events Recruit and coordinate instructors, volunteers, vendors,
and staff as needed Assist with program registration, attendance
tracking, and basic reporting Assist in the promotion of programs
and events by working with staff to create flyers, social media
posts, newsletter articles, and other outreach methods Ensure
programs comply with department policies, safety standards, and
applicable regulations Respond to participant inquiries and provide
excellent customer service to the community Uses Parks and
Recreation best practice standards to develop evaluation tools for
programs and events and use data to drive improvement or expansion
of programs and events Work closely with the Recreation Supervisor
to develop schedules, timelines, and program logistics Coordinate
and manage sports programs which includes scheduling and overseeing
field and facility allocation for team, program and community use.
Assist in tracking program/event supply inventory and order
supplies as needed to ensure program/event success Performs other
duties as assigned Qualifications: Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in
Parks & Recreation Management, Recreation Administration, Event
Management, or a related field preferred; prior experience
coordinating programs, camps, classes, or events for youth, teens,
adults and seniors. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working
in a recreation, leisure service or closely related field
overseeing, programming or coordinating recreational activities,
special events, sports or any equivalent combination of education,
experience, and training which provides the knowledge and abilities
necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
Passion for community programming, recreation services, and public
engagement. Licensing, Certification, and Other Requirements: CPR,
First Aid and AED certified (or ability to obtain within 90 days of
hire). Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to pass a

meet deadlines Experience in customer service and a positive,
team-focused attitude Skilled in strong leadership with the ability
to train, motivate, and support staff and volunteers Ability to
work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed for programs and
community events Proficiency with basic computer applications such
as email and Microsoft applications Ability to follow department
policies, safety procedures, and city regulations Knowledge of
inclusive and adaptive recreation practices Passion for community
programming, recreation services, and public engagement Ability to

Physical Demands And Working Conditions: Work is performed in a
standard City office environment and in the community/ field.
Safely operates a City vehicle and variety of standard office
equipment including a computer terminal, telephone, 10-key
calculator, copier, and fax machine requiring continuous and
repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement. Work is performed part of
the time working in an environment where errors on this job can
lead to significant physical or mental consequences for self or
