Experience with IABP and CRRT - Fresh OHS from the OR experience -
Ability to titrate drips Description: Unit requires candidates to
have more than two years of experience in CVICU. Candidates must
have their own vehicles if traveling as a duo. Clinicians must take
and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing a
contract. Failing to score at least 80% in two attempts will result
in being DNU for a specified period. Candidates must live more than
50 miles away. Full-time, part-time, or PRN roles with any
associated facilities within the past year are not permitted. The
unit has 12 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 based
on acuity. Common diagnoses include AMI, CAD, and PVD. RNs will be
required to titrate medications including but not limited to
Dexmedetomidine, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine,
Levophed, Insulin, and Cardene. No nurse aids are present on this
unit. Intensivists are available 24/7 for patient care. Respiratory
Therapy is also available 24/7 but not unit-specific. Common
equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and HiFlow.
Monitoring is done through in-room monitors. RNs are responsible
for reading cardiac strips. Floating to other units such as ICU/PCU
is required based on departmental needs. Nurses will be scheduled
for two weekend shifts per pay period, which may vary. Holiday work
is also required. There may be up to three on-call shifts in a
12-week period per contract. Unit/department-specific orientation
is provided. Experience with Impella and Cerner is desired.
