ICU/Critical Care RN in Prescott, Arizona, 86301! Job Title:

Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Registered Nurse
License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: At least 1 year in ICU
setting Description: The nurse will float across multiple units,
providing care in various settings. The float pool includes ICU,
MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU units. It is important to maintain
familiarity with the nurse-to-patient ratios. In PCU the ratio is
1:4, and in MedSurg Tele the ratio is 1:5-6. The nurse will be
responsible for managing titratable drips such as Heparin,
Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
Patient demographics include geriatric, orthopedic, and
post-procedural patients. The nurse should be comfortable managing
patients post-myocardial infarction and those who have undergone
cardiac catheterization. Charge nurses will be present on each unit
and will not take assignments. Nurse aides will be utilized across
all settings. The nurse should be capable of interpreting cardiac
strips. Scheduling is managed by a designated scheduler with an
emphasis on flexibility. The schedule is published six weeks out
for a four-week period. The nurse will also be involved in every
other weekend and holiday rotations. Standby requirements are in
place for shifts with excessive staff. Notifications for unit
assignments will be sent two hours prior to the shift start via
text message. Solid color professional scrubs are required;
specific scrub guidelines may be implemented. Orientation includes
both general hospital orientation and unit-specific training. 5
