Job Description Job Description Job description Position: Plumbing Estimating - Entry Level Location: Jay’s Plumbing & Service Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $19.00 per hour Schedule: 8-hour shift We are seeking an immediate hire for a Plumbing Estimating - Entry Level. We are looking for a candidate who possesses advanced or expert computer skills, as many job duties are performed using various software programs. Upon hiring, the employee will receive extensive training on any unfamiliar or new duties. Note: Applicants MUST complete the computer and typing skills tests sent by Indeed for FULL CONSIDERATION! We are looking for an Entry-Level Plumbing Estimator to join our team. No prior estimating experience is required—we will train candidates who successfully complete the hiring process. What You’ll Do Learn plumbing estimating processes and procedures (training provided) Review and understand construction plans and specifications Perform quantity takeoffs and cost calculations Obtain pricing for materials from vendors and suppliers Attend job walks as needed Attend meetings with General Contractors (GCs) for scope reviews, cost-saving ideas, and coordination Assist in downloading, organizing, and sorting project plans Maintain document control, including reviewing, understanding, logging, and distributing: Requests for Information (RFIs) Submittals Change Orders Operations and Maintenance (O&Ms) related project documentation Use estimating software, spreadsheets, and other computer tools Coordinate with the Estimating team to support project bids Requirements Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute Strong math skills and attention to detail Working knowledge of computer skills Valid driver’s license Clean 3-year DMV printout Reliable transportation Flexible and willing to adjust schedule as needed, including coming in earlier than scheduled Ability to learn new systems and follow detailed instructions Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) 2 years of experience in project coordination or engineering (preferred, not required) Interest in construction, plumbing, or estimating is a plus Hiring Process (3 Phases) Phase 1 – Skills Assessment Math Test Computer Skills Test Phase 2 – Behavioral Assessment Test Phase 3 – Final Interview Interview with the Lead of the Estimating Department Candidates must successfully pass each phase to advance to the next.
