Summary: Oversees or performs a variety of manual, semis skilled,
and skilled work to maintain and repair buildings, facilities,
infrastructure, and equipment at Prescott Regional Airport.
Essential Duties: Performs construction, maintenance, renovation,
and repairs to facilities, equipment, and pavements; works on
carpentry, concrete, masonry, plumbing, HVAC, electricity,
painting, plumbing, and irrigations repairs/projects. Builds and
repairs fences and retaining walls. Performs and documents
mandatory monthly checks on FAA Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs).
Performs and documents monthly insulation readings & records.
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair airfield circuits,
electrical meters, and regulators. Repairs roofs. Collaborates with
contractors and other City departments on projects; reviews plans
and specifications; and monitors work. Provides emergency
maintenance. Maintains all areas to present a clean safe
environment; minimizes disruption of services while performing
work. Builds concrete forms; repairs potholes; paints street curbs,
crosswalks, loading zones; and installs and repair parking meters.
Installs flooring; fixes plumbing; installs and repairs doors; and
makes tenant improvements based on assigned area. Makes electrical
repairs and installs/replaces outlets, switches, and light
fixtures. Clean and Maintain airfield lighting, signage, windsocks,
PAPI's, REAL's, etc. Performs general grounds maintenance including
mowing, drainage maintenance, and vegetation management; trims
trees; and operates wood chipper. Maintains, troubleshoots, and
repairs security doors, locks, and/or gates. Maintains,
troubleshoots, and repairs/coordinates repair of lighting systems.
Ability to use electrical meters for insulation reading, AMP
readings and trace out common circuit issues. Maintains air
compressors; tracks and schedules repairs and maintenance,
depending on assignment. Operates equipment such as bobcats,
loaders, dump trucks, snow plows, bucket truck and street sweepers,
as assigned; greases and maintains equipment as needed. Transports
waste products to transfer station for proper disposal; hauls
materials requiring a Commercial Driver's License if so assigned.
Performs routine and preventative maintenance of treatment systems,
equipment, buildings, and utility vehicles as assigned. Knowledge &
Training on lock out/tag out, NFPA 7OE Electrical Safety Awareness.
Depending on assignment, communicates on aviation radios for
clearance from Air Traffic Control; follows instructions to safely
navigate around airfield. Uses and maintains small hand and power
tools. Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs a variety of small engine
equipment, light vehicles, and heavy equipment; maintains equipment
in good working order. Welds metals. Orders and stocks parts;
maintains service records, and parts inventory. Fabricates parts as
necessary and as assigned. Follows OSHA and City safety standards
including the use of personal protective equipment; ensures crews
follow safety practices and procedures. Conducts inspections of
facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with regulations,
maintains Airport logs and records in accordance to regulations.
Assists in development of various documents for assigned
department, such as Snow Removal Plan, Stormwater Pollution
Prevention Plan, and Airport Certification Manual. Ability to work
with & escort contractors relating to airfield projects Assists in
installation of new and upgraded equipment. Performs effluent
delivery rounds, depending on assigned area. Maintains records,
schedules maintenance, schedules repairs, tracks equipment usage,
and s workloads. Assists in the set-up, preparation, and clean-up
of special events. Interacts with customers; discusses problems;
and formulates solutions. Operates snow removal equipment and
spreads cinders if so assigned. Conducts safety inspections such as
presences of exit signs, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers,
and appropriate protection gear for assigned duties. Knowledge of
CCR (constant current regulators) Diagnose & repair as needed
Perform preemptive maintenance on airfield hangar such as hangar
doors and lights and repair as needed. Performs other duties as
assigned. Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Any
equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which
provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the
essential functions of the position. Licensing, Certification, and
Other Requirements: Possess a valid Arizona driver's license; pass
a TSA-mandated 10-year security background investigation,
pre-employment drug test, fingerprint background check, and driver
record check. Completion of the Airport Operations training
program, as outlined in the City of Prescott Airport Operations New
Employee Orientation/Training Guide, within three (3) months of
hire. Possess an AAAE ACE-Airfield Lighting Maintenance or have the
ability to obtain within two (2) year of hire. Possess or have the
ability to obtain Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
with appropriate endorsements within two (2) years of hire.

and City residents. Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision. Physical Demands And Working Conditions: Work is
performed indoors and outdoors. Safety and effectively performs
required duties. Safely operates required equipment and City
vehicle as needed. Safely lifts 100 pounds occasionally with
assistance, 50 pounds regularly without assistance, and pushes,
pulls, twists, reaches, and bends. Requires working shifts during
mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Work requires being
on-call and responding to emergency situations (and airfield
problems if assigned to Airport). Clearly, concisely, and
effectively communicates both in person and over the telephone (and
aviation radios if assigned to Airport). Work is performed in an
environment with heavy equipment and machinery that could result in
